WFFP Coordination Committee meeting began at Sampran, Thailand today

The women and men leaders from the Federation of Thai Fisherfolk Association(FFF) Welcome the leaders of WFFP to the Coordination Committee meeting held in Sampran in Thailand.
Mr. Sama-ae Jehmudor the chair of FFF said "We are in the planning stage of the next steps of WFFP. Let us plan for better future of the world fishrrfolk. Specifically for the GA7 which will be held in New Delhi India in 2017."

While  welcoming the delegates, the chair woman of FFF Supaporn Pannarai said, "We are always in the struggle to ensure our way of life, our culture, our livelihoods and our future as small scale fisher people. We are energized and encouraged to continue our struggles more strongly and powerfully in solidarity with the leaders of the global movement of small scale fisherfolk politically.

"We are pleased to back here in Thailand from the time of 4SSF since 2008 as the VGSSF Process began here in Bangkok. There we began the Drafting of VGSSF based on the Bangkok Statement  which FAO adopted in June, 2014." Said Naseegh Jaffer the Secretary General of WFFP at his opening remarks. 

The meeting continue till 29th April  in Sampran Riverside in the green environment and organic food arranged.

Ravadee Prasterchree director of Sustainable Development Foundation the host organisation  briefed why they selected the venue and importance of it.
