EU lifted the ban on import SL Fishery products

SL fisheries minister Mahinda Amaraweera announced yesterday that the negotiations with european union has been successful and EU agreed to lift the ban of import of SL fish production to their territories.
The EU had banned the imports of SL fishery products to their territories since October 2014 and confirmed  it January 2015 on the grounds of IUU.
EU had enforced ban and imposed 70 conditions to facilitate the release the ban. According to sources of the fish exporters associations it is affected at least 35/. of fish export industry.
The newly elected Maithri-Ranil govt. attempted to get lift the release the ban which was successful at the end.
Mahinda Amaraweera the MoF explained how hard his ministerial officials work hard to get lift the ban.
"We are thankful to my officials in the ministry for their hard work and commitment on this matter."
