Good Bye Jan!

Jan Bruisma, was the director of MDF and was one of our key facilitator at ID/OS course I followed in 1996 which was organized by MDF-SL team. Nick Bucker was the chief of the training team together with Jan. I attended the course from then SEDEC, the Caritas-SL today. Me and Udan Fernando, the current executive director CEPA were the room mates which came from similar background. We had lot of common things to share. The experiences of church hierarchy, social development work with the diocesan structures, working with animators and district organizations were some of the similar matters we shared. 

Jan was the key among other facilitators to instrumental and to motivate the trainees team. With our privilege and much pleasure one of a veteran social development activist, Lerins Peiris, who was the mediator of Janodaya Kendraya was also with us in the group.
Once, Cornelie Quist of Win Wis, NL, shared with us the message of  passing away of Jan, it reminded me the precious time we spent together at Digana village in 1996.
We are greatly value and appreciate the time we spent with Jan and the team as those are very much important for my work at NAFSO today.
I would say Good Bye to you Jan with heavy heart.
