The WFFP Coordination Committee members visited Prachuakaran fisheries community to meet the member organisation at Thailand today. (FFF)
The FFF members were having interactive dialogue with the Thailand fisheries ministerial officials on International Guidelines on Small Scale Fisheries. Thailand is one of the most supportive country while drafting the SSF Guidelines. Not only that the Bangkok statement which was the result of Global 4SSF Conference hosted by Thailand government.
So this is a historic moment that we are back here to attend to see how Thai fisherfolk and their Govt is interacting to implement the VGSSF.
Mohommed Ali Sha one of the co-chair of the WFFP told at the meeting, "We are proud to be part of this dialogue as we all were in the 4 SSF Process began in Bangkok in 2008."
"Today we are struggling to adopt this guidelines as policies in our countries which help us to use the content as political instrument." Added Ali Sha at the meeting.
