In deep sympathy, we regret to inform you that plantation peoples rights activist comrade Fr. Guy de Fontgalland has passed away yesterday. He tirelessly fought for the well-being and achievement of the rights of the plantation communities for many decades whilst take part in the national level struggles to protect the rights of the peasants, workers, women and all communities who have affected by the neo-liberal policies. He was also could be seen in the front lines of the struggles against human rights violations in North, South. and also mid country people.
He has been a very close ally and collaborator during the street campaign Veediye Virodaya, which was the campaign launched by Civil Society for a Change, a Change with Reforms campaign.
Fr. Guy has been a long-term companion of SAAPE and also people in South Asia. We would like to share
the sorrow with his family and wish him a peaceful good bye whilst
remembering and respecting his invaluable services for all the
communities during his life.
We, the NAFSO Comrades would like to say, Good Bye with a Red Salute Fr. Guy.!
