The WFFP CC meeting began at Pondicherry, India today with the representatives from all the continents with much strength after celebrating the World Fisheries Day 2014, under the theme of "Stop ocean grabbing - implement the Guidelines".
While welcoming the group Manikkam Illango, CC Member and NFF Chairperson, India said "We all representatives of SSF people in the world are united under the WFFP banner are continue to committ to fight the assert the rights of SSF".
Mohommed Ali Sha, the Co-chair of WFFP & Chair of PFF, Pakistan inaugurating the session said, "We are here to say we are against Ocean grabbing and we do not allow resource plunders to grab our resources and displace our communities and push them further in to poverty and violation of human rights."
There was a few minutes silence of the group mourning Comrade Tahira Ali Sha the women leader of Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum.
The team acknowledge the hard work performed by the International Secretariat lead by Naseegh Jaffer, the general secretary, preparing logistics and required documents to successful running the CC Meeting.
