Protest was conducted inforont of the Fort against Port city protect.Fishermen, Civil society organizations, Religious sectors and environment organizations joined the protest. Then the protestors started marching towards the presidential office but police blocked and people closed the road.How ever some team plan to go in a differe way. All attempts were futile and finally group conducted a meeting. Towards the end of the protest, 20 people were allowed to discuss but organizes decided to not to go for discussion.
China Fort City project was highly criticised once the present government in the opposition. Ranil Wickramasinghe, raised this in the parliament as the oppositiin leader and promised to stop when they elected the govt. Now it is the term to fullfill the promises.
