Is Indian Trawler poaching over?

Fisher people in the northern province expected an amicable solution to Indian trawler issues with the dialogue they conducted with the sponsorship of the government. However Tamil Nadu politicians were not happy to continue the dialogue while Indian fishermen and their boats under SL custody.
Northern fishers were hopeless and expected to attend some actions as isolated work won't helpful at all.
NAFSO together with Northern Province Fisher People's Union executive committee met at Vavinia today.
Representatives from Mannar, Jaffna snd Kilinochci districts around 20 people attended today at Vavunia and agreed to continue the dialogues initiated with the Indian high  commission as a precondition of the dialogurs in May.
At the same time NAFSO has emphasised this should not be a struggle of northrrn fishers alone. So the proposed southern civil society meeting on Monday the 28th Aprill would be an important to both the areas to come up with a common program to fight together.  How southern media take this issue seriously is another important aspect as the importance of southern media on this issue is substantially gone down.
The documentary film produced by NAFSO media unit is also another aspect for highlight the fisher peoples issue.
