Agenda for Action on Food security and Nutrition on Protracted Crisis Situations

The reformed Committee on Food Security of FAO has identified the importance of ensure food security and nutrition in protracted crises situations in the world. The man made disasters or natural disasters caused to the protracted crisis situations and people suffer hunger, malnutrition, food shortages and livelihood losses. In such situations most vulnerable groups are children and women hence need comprehensive approach to address the root causes while identify resiellience  to the crisis.  Under the CFS A4A process there 22 such situations were identified to intervene. It is estimated around 366 million people are living in such situations which is already higher percentage of food shortage in the world.
A open ended working group was formed and technical supportive committee assigned to draft an Agenda for Action (A4A) to address the food insecurity and nutrition of protracted crises situations. The global gathering will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this week where the global conference will finalize the drafted A4A as a collective effort. This A4A will be submitted to CFS session in October for final decision making and consensus building. It is our pleasure to contribute our little ways to come up food security and nutrition in protracted crisis situstion in the world.
World is moving with hope and trust that every one live with out hunger and poverty.  We do hope all these efforts should contribute some way to make sure a better world for all. We do believe another world is possible with commitment and sacrifices of the people living today.
