Female Food Heroes Award Ceremony on Food Sovereignty!

The Women Food Heroes Award Ceremony on Food Sovereignty will be held on 28th April in Colombo.
In collaboration among MONLAR, NAFSO and Oxfam GROW Campaign will organize this appreciations of  women who engaged in ensure Food Sovereignty in the country. Leading women food producers were identified in the field of fisheries, agriculture and milk producers and will be Awarded the appreciation of the commitment.
NAFSO join the program selecting some Women leaders from fisheries sector who contributed Post Harvest practices, as well as those women who engaged in ensure the Land Rights while joining the Land Struggles in land campaigns related to land grabbing by military or due to so called development programs, Lead and motivated fellow fisher people taking stand against destructive fishing practices etc.
There will be 6 Women leaders from Negombo(Sea Street), Ampara(Paanama), Mannar(Pesalai), Batticoloa(Salli), Galle(Balapitiya) and Polonnaruwa(Parakrama Samudraya).
