DIFSO the partner organization of NAFSO organized the awareness raising program at Addalachena in Ampara district.
There were around 60 persons attended at the workshop and discussed some issues related to fisheries and resettlement.
Land issue was one major problem emerged at the discussion as the displaced communities need resettlement. Top of that the sea erosion around Oluwil harbor is another issue of land. Number of fisher families have lost their land and houses. At the same time there are few anchorage points have been washed away to the sea. People in the meeting have attended many advocacy campaigns without success.
However, the group who attended were not ready to give up their struggle to have a decent life with land and livelihoods.
