Some practitioers of community tourism got together an experience sharing dialogue in Bamboobag village in Kalpette, Kerala, India on 10-11 September.
The communities are sharing there rich experiences on community tourism as well as some shared the negative experiences of land grabbing, military interventions and many more.
It is important to see how the Kerala govt is trying to promote sustainable tourism for the benefit of majority poor in the country.
How the mass tourism and community tourism conflicting and what policy measures taken to address the conflict is important. We are very much pleased to learn and see how the community benefited from the income come through tourism.
Antje Mohulesun, BfW said; One Billion Tourists: One Billion opportunities attigude won't support sustainable tourism. There should be some govt mechanism and policy to launch if the govt seriously think the betterment of communitues involve in tourism."
