SAAPE CC began at Colombo today

South Asian Alliance for Poverty Eeadication(SAAPE) began the Core Committee meeting in Colombo today. 

The civil society leaders, trade unionists, political activists from almost all South Asian countries attended the CC meeting.
The main area of discussion is the country situation, alliance building across South Asia, campaigns we launch such as the women, food sovereignty and democracy and demilitarization.
The growing religious fundamentalism and anti democratic forces supported by politicians, growing practice of land grabbing and the way of respond to the people's resiatance movements through extra judiciary killings and disappearances is growing threats to social activists in South Asia.
