"We are having outdated laws and regulations which were introduced by colonizers. We need updated laws which protect Small Scale Fishing communitues." Says Sunny mama, a small scale fisherman who has long time experiences in fisheries in Trincomalee.

Loyel Peiris, the coordinator of Puttlam district says, "We need to educate our fishing communities on the Port City project which is harmful to the Coastal communities and aquatic environment. There should be strong education campaign to mobilize people against port city."
