Prdsident Maitripala Sirisena had decided to degazett the acquisition of acquired 800 acres of land and hand over to the original owners of Sampur on February.
The MNC which wanted to invest the land for High Industrial Zone in Sampur filed a fundamental rights case in the supreme court after the Cabinet decision and the President's gazette notification.
The supreme court had given the ruling that the President's action as legal and valid and rejected FR Petition of the MNC.
This is very important matter to all the land rights campaigners in the Praja Abhilasha and PARL networks in which NAFSO play an active role in them.
