Panama people went to Human Rights Commission against Lahugala Divisional Secretary

Today the Paanama people complained against the DS of Lahugala Divisional Secretariat in Colombo. The main point of the complain is that the non follow the due procedures when hand over the Paanama land to the Presidential secretariat on 2013.
In the complain we say the DS can hand over the land only to government department on one hand and the not followrd the due process of land acquisition in this land deal.
"P.D. Bandara, a displaced community member of Raigamwela- Sastrawela villages had told the media how brutal experience he faced on 10 July 2010. "I can not understand why the government officials can not follow the rules and regulations? Eventually we are the victims. When they do not follow the  due process to grab our land now they say they should follow procedures to hand over our land back. We want our land back as decided by the Cabinet of ministers on February." Paanama people want to further strong actions till they reach their goal which is to settle their land.
"We dont want to give up our precious land and to settle in dry and arid lands in a hilly area. After all those are elephants lands in jungle and not meant to live for people." Said Bandara addressing the.media after submitting the complain to Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission.
