Panel on SL tourism and HR was successful

The panel on tourism and human rights was held today at Berne, Switzerland with the participation of Mathiaz of TUI, Mark Dangal of Swiss Investor Forum, Angella Mattli of STP and me attended the session. The panel was moderated by Gabriela Neuhaus of Offroad Reports who played a great role in moderation and facilitation of the session.
My main intervention at the panel was the major role which the SL Govt should be played for the development of their citizens in the country. However, the tour operators and investors should also play a responsible role according to the UN Guiding principles on Business and HR and soft law obligations.
It was a good opening for discussion on SL gourism boom and protection rights and interests of coastal communities in the country.
Educating and mobilizing communitiez in Kalpitiya, Passikudah and Nilaweli are the next possible steps to engage by NAFSO coming months.
