Hundreds of thousands of people are in refuge camps, schools and religious places as continuous rain brought the ill fate to close to one million people.
First message I got from Vijay of Neela Bamma, Karuwalagaswewa area. They are our longlasting members since 2000. The house of Vijay flooded with 8' water current as Kalaoya flooded due to open the gates of Rajangana tank.
Second message from Addalachena and NAFSO members from Oluwil, Ashrofnagar and Thiraikerni were affected with adverse weather.
Jesudasan, Isadeen and Kannan my colleagues met people at Addalachena area and provided some basic assistance to the victims.
At the same time Pradeep, Jayawathie, Lasantha nd Loyel met the victims at Neela Bamma and provided some dry rations to them just before Christmas.
There is no Mental or Physical fitness to greet Merry Christmas as thousands of people are didplaced, disturbed and destroy their cultivations and houses.
