A hand book to learn on VGGT in more simplified manner was launched at the World Fisheries Day commemorations in Colombo.
The book was a demand of people who attended the VGGT workshops conducted by NAFSO.
S. Subramaniyam, the secretary to the northern province fisher people's unity said, " GOSL should respect what they agreed at international fora and ensure protection intend to provide through such instruments, conventions etc. VGGT is a tool for affected people to use in their struggles." Unless those agreements are ratified and prepare regulations there is no meaning of having adopt them internationally, he added.
