Stop Tamil Nadu trawlers fishing illegally in Sri Lankan waters! Sri Lankan fishermen to demonstrate in front of Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Jaffna

On Monday (29^th February) Sri Lankan fishermen from Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Mullaitivu will protest outside the Indian High Commission in Jaffna in support of the Sri Lankan government’s actions and diplomatic efforts to stop illegal fishing by Tamil Nadu trawlers and country boats in Sri Lankan waters.

Sri Lankan fishermen in the north request the Sri Lankan government to take appropriate measures to arrest, charge, prosecute and fine Tamil Nadu trawler and country boat owners for persistent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Sri Lankan waters.
