The women leaders of Ashrofnagar met the Citizen Committee today with the guidance of DIFSO, the Ampara district fisheries solidarity organizaton.
The women leaders discussed the issues on land, education of their children and also the violence against women campaign aiming at Wpmen's day on 29th March.
One woman leader said, " We the women face difficulties in our day today life. We work to collect signatures as planned at the women federation of NAFSO. We will do this as this is our issue related to our lives."
M. Isadeen, the coordinator of DIFSO explained the difficulties the citizen committee faced as continuous struggle to get the land back from the land grabbers.
"The supreme court order also neglected and do not return people's land they captured. Our fight continue amidst the threats we are facing up to now"
