Are we with the Poor or not: those who committed should prove it.

It is interesting to hear the protectors of oppressed people and the oppressors are hand in hand in front of the God's service.
We learned that the God in the Bible is God of the Poor. The deciples of the Christ should follow the Christian values and option for the Poor.
We consider the island communities in Kalpitiya peninsular are one of the worst hit due to tourism industry promoted by the regime and the investors on tourism industry.
Catholic church mediated as the protectors from the oppression and oppressors of the tourism industry on the past. In March or recent past highest hierachy of the catholic Church including Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith together with 9 Bishops and priests met Kalpitiya island communities in Uchchimunei and some others. That was clear indication of the commitment of the church while appreciating as a lay person.
However, it is disturbing news that we got when two of key investors were invited to lightening the oil lamp at the moment of the holy mass of the Mohoththuwarama feast. The investros of Bay watch resort and Dutch Bay Resort at Mohoththuwarama islands were the chief  guests at the feast meaning the blessings to the oppressors by the church. It is church should clarify this and prove they are with the oppressed or not. We are awating to see how this happen in the future.
