NAFSO team together with DIFSO conducted budget proposal preparing program for Addalaichenai Pradesheeya Saba, Ampara district with VALARPIRAI women district committee and the Citizen Forum members today.
Antony Jesudasan, K.Isadeen and Lavena Hasanthi played the facilitation role in the program.
A woman who attended from Deegawapi village said, "Even the whole country developed the roads, our roads are not constructed and not paid attention. At least the pradesheeya Saba funds should allocate to renovate the destroyed roads, if our people bring their vegetable products to Addalachenai market."
She was one among others very articulate their own situations and ready for a dialogue with Pradesheeya Saba authorities.
The importance is those marginalized communities are now coming forward to raise their voice as a collective body under the Addalachenai Citizen Forum.
Kalanthar Isadeen, the coordinator of DIFSO said, "This is not an easy task as every one see us as trouble makers. The people who kept silence and come forward demanding their basic facilities, such as roads, market facilities, water, health which is a headache to the authorities. And DIFSO and we as the mobilizers of the people."
But, we do this as we see the importance and how people are awakening and come forward for demand their basic rights. Added Isadeen.
