Gender, Gender Equality & Gender Equity!

The gender, gender equality and gender equity were another important subject matters discussed at the session today. The women leaders realized that
although we discussed about gender equality there is important matters to discuss on gender equity for the handicapped and low attention groups.
The women at Women Leadership Development program at Negombo gradually learned about practical gender issues, stereotyping, gender blindness of the society, the sexual harassments, domestic violence and CEDAW as important instrument to address some of the gender issues.
At the previous session last month, the women leaders expected in depth learning about the peace, ethnic issue as well as join the reconciliation process.
Subashinie Kamalanathan, the coordinator SVFWO, explained the proposed program for exchange visit between northern and southern women groups by end of August.
