The PA/NAFSO/JHAH/ PARL/ WFFP/ SAAPE WS on Land, Water, Development and Role of Citizen was concluded at Digana, Kandy.
The participants were attended 3 major sessions at the WS which reaffirmed the commitment to engsge the issues on;
* Climate Justice
* Food Sovereignty
* Legalize Customary rights
The deep analysis on current development strategy which promote Neo Liberal economic model imposed by the International Financial Institutions was studied at the 2 day WS.
Prevention food producer communities from land grabbing and ensure land rights, food sovereignty are the main outcome of the WS.
Francis Raajan, the PA Coordinator in his concluding remarks, "We need to prioritize the emerged activities to prepare a plan and to address the issues related to food sovereignty. We will work this plan at the next PA steering committee."
Jagath Liyanarachchi, the lawyer of TISL one of a resource person said, "The Customary regimes are important to ensure people's traditional rights which do not cover in the provisions of existing constitution. One of our aim is to make recognize the customary rights.,
The pax came out ideas how to.move forward based on the inputs of the resource persons both Sajeewa Chamikara on National Physical plan and Jagath Liyanarachvhi on Land laws in Sri Lanka.
The plan will be prepared aiming at "Our Land: Our Life! campaign during the coming years.
