Paanama people won the court case today at Pothuwil magistrate court. The judge dismissed all accusations against the people. The major charge against them was the illegal entry in to Air Force land and violate the injunction order preventing the entry into their lands.
The lawyers of Ms. Raveendra Sumathipala and Mr. B. Favees argued with police and proved those charges are not valid and false while submitting necessary maps and documents.
There were 10 persons among hundreads of villagers summoned today at the court and represented the community.
The judge accepted the arguments of the lawyers and agreed to discharge people with freeing them from all accusations.
