The Cop 21 in Paris, one of the largest State gathering in the century will take place at France from 3rd to 13th December 2015.
Parallel to State heads and leaders gathering thousands of people will also gather at Paris during the period and will voice out demanding genuine solutions for the climate crisis in the Globe. People will protest strongly against the fake solutions proposed so far as the solution to the climate crisis.
There will be a massive scale People's Climate March on 12th December organized by civil society groups in Paris.
10 member WFFP delegation together with LVC, Focus on the Global South, GRAIN, Friends of the Earth, COPAGEN, COSPE, CICMA and many other social movements will join this historical event.
WFFP will organize the global convergence of Land and Water Struggles will be held at Centraque the civil society meeting place on 10th December.
The activity will take the form of a public meeting with at least 200 participants. We could, if space is available, mobilise 400 participants. The meeting will raise radical voices from the grass-roots level from all continents on different aspects of land and water struggles, and ereal solutions. It will call for climate justice and peoples' solutions as opposed to the false solutions of the UNFCCC, and mobilise people across sectors, geographical regions, and cultural identities.
The three main goals of the meeting are:
1) To expose the false solutions (in particular Redd+, Blue Carbon and Climate Smart Agriculture) of the UNCFFF which poses a threat to the livelihoods and sovereignty of hundreds of millions of small-scale food producers across rural and urban areas globally.
2) To present and promote real solutions to achieve climate justice, based on the values and principles of food sovereignty and agro ecology.
3) To mobilize groups and people against the false solutions to climate issues, and promote peoples’ solutions. The mobilization of this meeting will contribute to the broader mass mobilization and convergence of different movements struggling against the solutions posed by the UNFCCC, and to promote the ongoing work of the Convergence on Land and Water Struggles.
