Floods in Jaffna disturbed the WFD preparations!

NAFSO and it's partner organizations had involved much organizing work and planned to conduct massive campaign on World Fisheries Day program which will be held in Ilankai Venthan dancing school in Jaffna, However, the continuous rain and floods there disturbed the plans and had to take a decision whether to continue as planned or postpone the WFD activities we planned. A team from NAFSO secretariat visited Jaffna today and explored the possibility to hold the WFD activities in Jaffna or to postpone or change the venue. After meeting with the Jaffna organizers and also the camp dwellers, religious leaders and many others the NAFSO team informed that there is a high probability to hold the WFD celebrations in Jaffna. However, the recommendation was hold the WFD at Jaffna and postpone the Annual General Body meeting and organize it some time after this disturbed period. So, it is with much pleasure we announce that the WFD celebrations will be held in Jaffna on 21st November as planned. The Venue: Ilankei Venthan Arts School in Jaffna.
