Trincomalee district team organised the children day program at Trincomalle town with the women and collaborators paralel to the National Women Federation campaign.
The group of women collectively march to Nagara and Kadawath DS office and handed over a petetion to divisional secretary after attending a protest at the clock tower.
Ananda Peiris and Sanjana Santhnayagam lead the campaign with organizing the campaign.
Ananda Peiris the coordinator Trincomalee district organization said "this is very significant event to safe guard the women and children. Our people were joined the campaign with much dedication."'
Sanjana Santhanayagam women coordinator was delighted with the success of the event and narrated, "Women are giving the life to the humanity. We can not allow the life to destroy by inhuman acts of the perpetrators and continue impunity. We strongly voice out for stern actions to those responsible to the rapes and killings of children and also the violence against women. This is one progressive step way forward. We will take action further after evaluating the islandwide event today."
The next steps will be planned at next SC of NAFSO and the National committee of National Women Federation.
