Pumphuhar Women are leading the Nuclear Power Plant Struggle at Koodankulam

Sri Lankan women leaders met the Pumphuhar women leaders at Nagapattinam on 25th October as a part of their exchange visit to Tamil Nadu. The vibrant women movement which is affiliated to SNEHA is one organization among others to fight against Girl child abortions, discriminatory dowry system on women are some of the major work the women team engaged in.
The dependency on men is being highly reduced as women engage in the struggles against oppression and violence against women due to drunkenness and many more reasons.
"Our attempts are also similar as we were engaged the similar issues on 1st October campaign which was lead by NAFSO. But all the decisions were made at the National Women Federation meeting." said Zahira Ismail, the representative from Ampara district.
Women empowerment is one of the main activity of NAFSO and engage consciously, said the women leader Lavena Hasanthi,
