It is encouraging that the those parliamentarians who attended the Food Sovereignty event at Vavunia are very deeply aware the situation of their fellow fisher communities issues.
Mr. Mavei Senadhirajah while addressing the Food Sovereignty event at Vavunia said "We are aware the situation of our northern province fishermen due to Indian trawling, southern fishers migration, loss of fishing gears, anchorage points, coastal lands and other infra structure facilities.
The northern province fisher people's efforts are highly commendable and should be rewarded. They have their own vision and mission for development. Our role is to assist them for implementation of such plans."
The most important part is to provide our continuous support to fisher communities and also the women headed familiez.
"We will take all possible effort to bring these issues to the highest possible authorities in the country and also behond the boundaries of the country." added MP Senadhirajah.
