VGSSF Sinhala Translation on hands of PM Ranil Wickramasinghe today!

NAFSO translated the Voluntary Guidelines of Securing Sustainable Small Scale Fisheries (VGSSF) of Food and Agriculture organization of UN into Sinhala and Tamil languages. At a small function held at Samudrasanna temple at Kandakuliya at Kalpitiya today, NAFSO convener handed over the Sinhala translation of VGSSF to Prime Minisiter Ranil Wickramesinghe.
The chief monk of the temple Rev. Bandiwewe Diyasena thero said at the function, "We thankfully recall the reduction of fuel price contributed to strengthen fishermen's economy. But there are number of issues still to be addressed soon. For that fishermen need a face to face meeting with honourable PM in a different time.

While receiving the VGSSF, Hon. P. M. Ranil Wickramasinghe said, "We can meet and discuss these issues further and find solution together."

It is our desire to continue this dialogue between fisher leaders and the authorities for address their issues.
In a different meeting between NAFSO convener and FAO deputy head at Sri Lanka Dr. Premalal had planned to brief the work with FAO Sri Lanka representative and to organize a round table dialogue among policy makers including Minister of Fisheries and the senior officials of the fisheries ministry.
