Group of women leaders of Sri Vimukthi Fisher Women Organization met the Internal affairs minister Joseph Michael Perera yesterday and discuss how to get the support for income generation activities for fisher women, find ways to get support for housing facilities for homeless people in Negombo, provide loan facilities with the rate of 1./. as promises made by the minister at Women's day held at Negombo.
At the women day program Minister came up with various suggestions which could be supported to uplift their life situation. There is a constructive dialogue between Minister and the team which received a productive results. There should be program proposal to be submitted to Ministers office by the team.
The next steps will be done in collaboration among SVFWO, DFEO OFFICE & NAFSO during the coming week.
