IDP issue is still continue in Jaffna peninsular even under Maithree's govt. However, it was clear fact president Maithree received highest percentage of votes from Tamil areas during the election on 8th January.
It is not just to allow perpetuate the sufferings of those people. However it is important to mention President Maithree said in a meeting with SLFP parliamentarians, "Keep in mind, there is no future to this country unless there is justice to Tamil and Muslim minority ethnic communities. My govt is committed to equal rights for all the communities in the SL society." We appreciate the bravery of President as there was no President had the gut to say this truth.
While military is engage in tourism, agriculture and construction activities, the people who did not get their land back are continuing the sufferings in the camps.
