GOSL has the role to perform if they expect to uplift the life of fisher communities. The govt can launch programs to grow prawns in the lagoons. This will help fisher people to have more income for their living.
There are serious decline of fish catch as well as extinct of some fish varieties. Why this happened so? It is not only in the northern seas. But also south and east seas too. There should be a comprehensive study to understand the reason why we lost some fish varieties. Thuram Croos of Thalvupadu fisheries cooperative society suggested and all others agreed to do so.
This is one of the important matters we need to follow up and out come of the workshop.
