Five Star Democracy at SL.

Today, some activists related to PfF conducted a leaflet distribution at Telwatta Junction, Negombo. We were around 15 and we covered all the main streets at Telwatta junction for the work. Our target was to cover 3000 leaflets which is a paralel event of the people's march of UNP/JVP/ and the combined opposition protesting against the firing and destroying the UNP provincial councilors office at Kattuwa.
We were about to finish the work, when the march was reached at Telwatta Junction by 12 noon.
Two lawyers, who claimed the supporters of our victimized Provincial Councillor informed us that there will be an arrest of our activists as we are distributing leaflets.
In fact those leaflets are not related to support to any of the political party or any presidential candidate. We distributed the leaflets against the election violence, impunity and culture of violence by the ruling party. We demanded the general public to join the Platform for build up a people's movement which is a pressure group against the oppression and violation of national laws.
So, this is the 5 star democracy in our country. A suspects who used fire arms could get bail out one day, while distributing leaflets against those are the biggest violators of the law and order.
This is our country called Sri Lanka with 5 star democracy.
