We want to sustain our Resources: Say Northern Province Fisher Leaders

We will protect our resources either inside challenges or out side challenges, says Alam the chairperson of NPFPU at the general body meeting today.
"We will not allow this happen from Indian trawlers or local trawlers in the northern province or the migrant fishers coming from south."
"NPFPU is stand for the rights of northern province fishermen. We will not give up. The northern province should be shaken with our protest on 12th July." Says Francis Joseph, the chairperson of Kilinochchi samasam.
Mariyarasa the chairperson of Mulaitivu district fisheries federation said, "In a meeting held on 18th June at Ministry of fisheries on beach seine fishing issues, one army officer said that the Northern fishers were only the daily waged workers and owners are the southern fishers. However, Mariyarasa had pointed out that there is a gazette notification in 1965 there the owners are the northern province Tamil fishermen and only one Sinhala fisherman."
Subramaniyam, the secretary of NPFPU says,"Even our government surrender to Indian government, we will not surrender and will not allow to exploit our resource. We are depending on our resources and can not any one to touch without us."
