Paanama people are stiill in many places of displacement even after the Cabinet decided to release the lands belong to Paanama community. On 11th February, 2015 Cabinet decision was big release to affected communities. NAFSO filed a case against Divisional Secretary at Human Rights Commission with the legal assistance of TISL After several attempts of possible inquiry dates Lahugala DS proposed today as his available date.
Jagath Liyanarachchi, the Lawyer of TISL and me went to Ampara Human Rights Commission for the inquiry in the afternoon. Somasiri, Bandara and 4 more people attended the inquiry from complaints.
The day was wasted of aĺl of us the complaints because the DS did not attend the inquiry. At the same time the junior official who attended the inquiry had not brought a letter of authority nor the supportive document file brought to the inquiry.
Jagath, our lawyer explained our position over DS's irresponsible actions.
We strongly register our protest over irresponsible behaviour of DS and urge from the HR Commission officials to convene DS to HR head quarters in Colombo.
At the same time we urged from the HR Commission officials to take a action againat DS as he is absconding the commission.
