Nicole from Fisheries and Aqua culture department of FAO who arrived late also addressed the PLAAS seminar at Cape Town today.
She emphasized the global importance of SSF guidelines.
Also narrated what are the major UN related sources, processes used to formulate the SSF guidelines. Also begining from 2008 in Bangkok upto Rome 2014.
How the influence global policies and also how to claim SSF rights and understand the rights.
Also need to understand social dimensions of the guidelines. Need to understand the right to livelihoods than right to fishing alone.
How do we engage an effective engagement of the implementation is the issue and challenge ahead of us.
So the next days ahead of us is the time for us
