We, small group of concern group met at LAKRIVI office to launch our political exile friend Manjula Wediwardene's poetry book of "Nidi nathi nirmala asaka agissaka kandulak" today.
The book was presented to our ever loving artist Jayathilake Bandara, we call him "Jaye" in our circles for love.
Tharanganie, who welcome the group said, "Manjula says we, the Sri Lankan society did not pay due respect to Jaye. Offering the book to Jaye is one small way of respecting Jaye".
Jayantha Namal of Kithusara, talked about how "Sadhu Jana Ravaya" contributed to build reconciliation and peace in the country.
Jaye's "Polowata Yuda Vadeema Nindithai"
Cassette gave us a direction whicho highlight the humanity even during the period of war, added Jayantha Namal.
However, we need to learn from Jaye how he has this bravery to face these challenges.
The most important part is what has happened about the minds and heart of the society in Post Nandikal Lagoon context.
Jaye, you are a real artist in this context and not only that you are a hero in our society today.
Manjula we salute you as the first one for appreciate our loving Jaye through your creativity and love to our land.
Yes, this is very important as this book give us a hope. Jayantha Namal explained what happened at Sirimao Bandaranayake girls college when Namal Rajapakse and Eraj Weeraratne uaed dirty songs. The girls chased those two from the college as they learned from Jaye, how the songs could be used for empower society.
This gives us courage to continue our efforts for a better society tomorrow with our next generation.!
