Need answers to the issues: Not the thuggery

I had an radio debate with the Deputy Fisheries Minister today. One Radio channel organized the debate though they recorded the same debate separately. The main points of the discussion was about; # Foreign Fishing vessels and plight of our fishermen, # Low income for fishermen due to low Fish Prices. # Irregular fuel subsidy and consequences for the fishermen's life and livelihoods, # Arrested fishermen and their plight in Indian jails. # Compulsory Life saving jackets for fishermen when they go to sea. # Land and sea grabbing by companies, As the fisheries ministry always attempt to pass the ball in to others courts, I highly criticized the fisheries ministry as a futile body and no point of run such institution with the taxes of the citizens in Sri Lanka. One of my colleague called me today and informed the words used by the deputy minister at the interview saying, "This person[which is me] will be beaten up and chased away by the fishermen in Negombo, if he come to Negombo for any protest". So, this is the so called democracy in the country. Ministers or the Deputy ministers use abusive language once they are unable to respond effectively to the challenges raised by the civil society or unions. Mobilization of thugs is the main strategy they use for suppress the people's voices. It is clear fact the Guilty party is highly vociferous as they do not have any proper answers to the issues raised by the fishermen and civil society, Herman
