Last 15 & 16th, our brother/sister organization Right to Life has organized a street protest campaign at Hambantota and Matara districts.
According to Philip Dissanayake, Secretary of the R 2 L organization said that "Our street campaign was so success as the enthusism of the people were so much higher than we expcted. Specially, people In Tangalle were very much supportive and we did not expect that much of support in President's own kingdom"
There were around 85 people attended the campaign in which majority are women folk.
Brito Fernando, President of R 2 L and a convener of Platform for Freedom said,
"This is really encouraging. We never expected such a treatment from SOuthern areas where President calim his own people always. But one thing is clear, that PEOPLE WANT A CHANGE AND THEY ARE READY TO BRING IT."
We, as citizens of SL are happy and congratulate R 2 L members and activists as they take such brave stand to mobilize people amidst the threats to the life of the people attend.
