The Group of Women Headed Families and Internally Displaced People met C. Vigneshwaran, the Northern Province Chief Minister today in his office at Jaffna today.
The team discussed about the issues still remain and affect to their lives and livelihoods.
Lavena Hasanthi, the women's coordinator of NAFSO facilitated the dialogue and shared her views at the end of the meeting with CM, "the meeting was cordial and CM is ready to assist the war affected people. There will be an attention from CM's office for the submitted livelihood development plan for WHF."
NAFSO facilitated to draft a development program proposal for WHF and submitted to CM's office in early February.
There is a hope that CM's office would assist the WHF.
At the same time the IDP's are returning to their land after 25 years even without any basic facilities. No water, shelter, security for the returnees as all the basic facilities are no more in the villages. There should be a special attention paid for the welbeing of the people. Housing, water and livelihioods are the basic needs of the people.
People expected and urged from the CM for mediate the issues they face and address them with speedy actions.
