The formation of women federation within the year is one of our aim of NAFSO this year. The northern and eastern provinces women are engage the programs with much enthusiasm and courage amidst many difficulties.
However, it is our continuous attempt to ensure animate and mobilize women in southern areas and unite them with N/E women movement to build national women federation eventually.
The women's animation program was organized today at Southern Fisheries Organization in Galle to orientate the grass root women leaders of women district comittee which was attended 26 village women leaders from nine villages.
The team educated the NAFSO women program which is conducting in North and East.
They identified the main problems in the areas as follows;
Drug addiction and spread of the hazards, under age marriage, Economic difficulties of the fisher communitiez, Increase of shcool drops out et.
Finally the women leaders decided to conduct education program in each village begining from July. The group will present a report to the monthly district meeting by Wednesday 1st July.
